In a powerful move reflecting President Donald J. Trump’s unwavering commitment to restoring integrity and patriotism in America’s institutions, Secretary of the Army Dan Driscoll has directed West Point to terminate its agreement with Jen Easterly, a controversial Biden-era official, and review its hiring practices.
The order comes as a resounding message to the military and academic world: political censorship and ideological activism have no place in the training of our future warriors.
Just one day after Easterly was announced as the Robert F. McDermott Distinguished Chair in West Point’s social sciences department, Driscoll intervened with a clear directive.
His action not only puts a stop to the attempted infiltration of a key military institution by figures aligned with President Biden but also reaffirms the Trump administration's mission to take back control of America’s military and educational leadership from the grip of the radical left.

Driscoll’s memo, shared publicly on X, bars outside groups from choosing employees at the U.S. Military Academy and orders an immediate review of its hiring practices. It also terminates Easterly’s appointment.
The message is clear: under President Trump’s second term, those who seek to indoctrinate cadets with politically charged ideologies — especially those who have actively worked to suppress free speech — will not be tolerated.
Easterly, who previously served as director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) under Joe Biden, has been at the center of growing controversy.
While the agency is tasked with securing critical infrastructure, including voting systems, its role expanded in politically charged ways during her tenure.

Easterly’s CISA faced scathing criticism from Republican lawmakers and Trump supporters for its efforts to counter so-called “misinformation” about the 2020 election and the COVID-19 pandemic.
Many saw these actions as nothing more than politically motivated censorship disguised as cybersecurity.
Despite her denials that the agency censored speech, the public and congressional investigations have raised serious questions about CISA’s collusion with social media companies to silence dissent. As Easterly herself admitted last January, the election-related work of CISA had become mired in “contentiousness.”
That contentiousness, fueled by what many conservatives view as deliberate suppression of free speech and the truth, makes her appointment to a teaching role at West Point not just inappropriate — but dangerous.
Far-right activist and longtime Trump ally Laura Loomer sounded the alarm on social media, decrying the move as another example of “Biden holdovers” within the Department of War working to “undermine” President Trump’s leadership.
Loomer has consistently called on the Trump administration to clean house, removing individuals who remain loyal to the failed Biden regime and hostile to the America First agenda. Her calls have often led to action — and this time was no different.
The directive to West Point includes a strong rebuke of non-governmental influence in staffing decisions: “Immediately pause non-governmental and outside groups from selecting employees of the Academy, including instructors, professors, teachers and shaping academic or developmental lectures.”
Driscoll's decision ensures that cadets are being taught by those loyal to the Constitution and capable of preparing them for the battlefield — not bureaucrats advancing a left-wing narrative.
An Army spokesperson gave a broader justification for the move: “We are crafting a deliberate approach to ensure that our future officers are best prepared to meet the demands of the modern battlefield.”
That battlefield, of course, is both physical and ideological.
The Trump administration recognizes that victory abroad begins with strength at home — starting in our classrooms, our military academies, and our leadership training.
Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell cut to the heart of the matter in his own post on X:
“We’re not turning cadets into censorship activists,” he declared. “We’re turning them into warriors & leaders. We’re in the business of warfighting.”
And that’s precisely the point.
President Trump and his allies are working to ensure the U.S. military stays focused on its mission — defending America — rather than becoming a vehicle for social experimentation or ideological control.
Easterly, herself a West Point graduate and combat veteran, did not respond to requests for comment.
But her silence speaks volumes. In a time when accountability and transparency are demanded, her prior actions and associations have rendered her unfit to influence the next generation of American military leaders.
President Trump promised to drain the swamp. Removing Easterly from West Point is yet another example of that promise in action — a necessary step to ensure that our military remains loyal to the Constitution, not to partisan bureaucrats or globalist agendas.
As the Trump administration reclaims control of key institutions, it’s becoming increasingly clear: the days of censorship, collusion, and quiet subversion of American values are numbered.
