Liberal media just can’t help themselves when it comes to spinning the truth on illegal immigration. But even Charlamagne Tha God wasn’t buying it this time, as reported by The Daily Caller.

On The Breakfast Club Wednesday, the radio host clapped back at journalist Morgyn Wood, who claimed President Donald Trump’s administration was rounding up innocent migrants.

Charlamagne, known for his blunt commentary, wasn’t about to let that slide. He reminded Wood that being in the U.S. illegally is, in fact, a crime.

Wood tried to paint a picture of mass arrests sweeping up innocent people, but Charlamagne wasn’t having it. She pointed to reports that Trump had ordered ICE to make at least 75 arrests per day of illegal immigrants who had committed violent crimes.

However, she suggested that enforcement wasn’t limited to violent offenders, but included anyone here illegally.

“At first, we were thinking it was just going to be those who were committing crimes, but no. It’s just if you are in the country and your status is not up to par, or you’re not in good standing, then you are eligible for deportation … at least under this Trump administration.”

Charlamagne, in a rare moment of clarity for a mainstream media personality, set the record straight.

“But isn’t being in the country illegally a crime? That’s a crime under federal law. So they’re rounding up people who are committing crimes and they’re rounding up people who are here illegally, because that too is a crime.”

Even Wood had to concede, admitting, “That’s true.”

While the left plays semantics with immigration law, the Trump administration isn’t sugarcoating reality. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt didn’t mince words when ABC’s Mary Bruce tried to challenge the administration’s approach.

Bruce asked for a breakdown of how many of the 3,500 illegal immigrants arrested since Trump returned to office had actual criminal records versus those who were simply undocumented.

Leavitt’s response? Every single one of them.

“All of them because they illegally broke our nation’s laws and therefore they are criminals as far as this administration goes. I know the last administration didn’t see it that way, so it’s a big culture shift in our nation to view someone who breaks our immigration laws as a criminal, but that’s what they are.”

ICE has already ramped up enforcement, arresting 956 illegal immigrants on Sunday and another 1,100 on Monday—far outpacing the feeble efforts of Biden’s DHS, which averaged just 310 daily arrests in 2024.

The left’s tired argument that illegal immigrants are somehow “innocent” despite breaking federal law is falling apart. Even Charlamagne, hardly a conservative voice, had to acknowledge the obvious: crossing the border illegally is, by definition, a crime.

Trump’s administration isn’t playing word games—they’re enforcing the law. And with numbers showing a serious uptick in arrests, it’s clear that illegal immigration is back on the priority list. No matter how much the media tries to twist the facts, reality has a way of breaking through.
