A man was arrested Saturday following an altercation with attendees outside Turning Point USA’s Student Action Summit (SAS), an annual gathering of conservative students and activists, held in downtown Tampa, Florida.

The incident was documented on video and circulated widely on social media platforms, including X.

The officer ran toward the man and made physical contact, first by shoving him and then tackling him to the ground as he tried to flee.

The man was taken into custody shortly after.

A separate video posted to X by Frontlines showed the same individual earlier in the day, hanging out of the window of his car and shouting at TPUSA attendees.

Fox News later reported that officers with the Tampa Police Department responded swiftly and “disrupted a brief scuffle between” the man and a group of summit attendees.

The outlet also noted that the incident left one protester “bloody in the street,” though the extent of any injuries has not been officially disclosed.

The Turning Point USA Student Action Summit draws a large crowd of young conservatives, activists, and speakers from across the country.

The summit regularly attracts demonstrators, and heightened security is often present during the multi-day event.

The 2025 gathering in Tampa was no exception, with police monitoring both the venue and the surrounding area due to increased tensions between attendees and protesters.

It remains unclear whether the man involved in the confrontation was affiliated with any organized protest or acted independently.

No further incidents have been reported at the summit following Saturday’s arrest.

Law enforcement continues to monitor activity in the vicinity of the event to ensure the safety of participants and the public.
